December 15, 2003 - Air Orlando has earned a reputation
as one of the finest flight schools in the world by providing
the highest quality of training at the best value. In line
this mission, Air Orlando is proud to announce its acquisition
of a Motus full-motion Flight Simulation Device.
The Motus™
One flight in the Motus™ FSD and you will see why
airlines build their training programs around simulators.
The Motus™ is a 6-axis, full motion flight simulation
device that has been certified to level 3 by the FAA. Not
only is the Motus less expensive than an aircraft, it is
also more efficient. In the Motus™, there is no start-up,
taxi, or run-up time. In the airplane when you complete
an approach, you often have to spend 15 minutes being vectored
before you can fly the actual approach again. In the Motus,
we can place you back to beginning of the approach instantly
with a click of a mouse. For the same cost to do 3 approaches
in the aircraft, you could complete 6– 10 approaches
in the Motus™ FSD.
The Motus™ is often a better learning environment
than an actual aircraft. We have complete control over the
variables like location, visibility, wind, turbulence, and
equipment failures. We can do many things with the simulator
that you cannot or should not do with a real airplane. We
can pause the Motus™ to explain a concept or answer
a student’s question. With the Motus™, we can
practice approaches anywhere in the country or see what
it is like to take-off over weight from Aspen on a hot day.
To allow students to efficiently practice using GPS equipment,
we have equipped the Motus with both a Garmin 430 and a
Bendix King KLN-94. The revolutionary FAA approved level
3 FTD Motus™ allows the student to practice potentially
dangerous worst-case emergency procedures in complete safety.
Air Orlando is proud to incorporate the Full motion 6-axis
fight simulation device into the following programs.
- Private Pilot
- Standard IFR training program
- IFR finish up program
- IFR cross country program
- Instrument Refresher
- Instrument Currency
- GPS training (KLN 94 & Garmin 430)
- Multi- engine training
- Advanced IFR training
- Initial / Recurrent training Seneca and Baron
Until recently, this technology was out of the reach of
most general aviation pilots. The full motion Level D simulators
that the airlines use cost 3 to 30 million dollars and require
very large spaces to operate. The Fidelity Motus takes advantage
of the latest advances in computers and software to bring
6-axis full motion reality to General Aviation. |
