After a number of inquiries, I settled on Air Orlando
Aviation at Orlando Executive Airport (KORL) to rent
a new Cessna 172 SP. I'm glad I did. I have rented airplanes
in many places and, overall, from the initial contact
(we did most of the necessary paperwork in advance)
to the CFI who handled my checkout to the line crew
people who clean the cockpit windows before almost every
flight, Air Orlando is the most well-organized and professionally
run organization of it's kind I have come across. |

This comment is long overdue. I flew into Orlando Executive
for a fuel stop before a trip to the Bahamas in January
2004. What I found was a pilot shop and a staff second
to none. Air Orlando by far has the best and most well-equipped
pilot shop in the world. Most importantly though, they
have a staff of knowledgeable flight instructors that
will stop at nothing to see that you are satisfied.
Kevin Wilkes helped me enormously with getting myself
prepared for the Bahamas trip, finding charts and making
sure I knew the ins/outs of Customs. His real world
experience with flying to/from the Bahamas was invaluable.
Air Orlando is lucky to have a set of instructors like
Kevin. |

April 11, 2004 "It took a week to accomplish
the "honey do"s and other "catch up items",
and now I want to give a pirep on air orlando and their
transition training on the SR22. IT'S GREAT! Being a
DPE, I wanted to know more about the SR 20 and SR 22
in order to administer a Flight Check. Aw heck, let's
tell the truth, I wanted to be put on my son's SR22
insurance policy so I could fly FREE! (Greg Scoggins@Charlotte)
I contacted Brandon Bryant at air Orllando and requested
the FULL course and got what I asked. I spent 9.7 hrs
pushing the wrong buttons at the right time and the
right buttons at the wrong time. Brandon is a professional
instructor that quickly analyzes his student and provides
instruction to accomplish the required learning outcome.
The entire staff make you feel that you are a part of
the organization, and they appreciate your business.
I was on the schedule Fri, Sat, Sun a week ago, so weekend
flying is not a problem with them. The facilities are
outstanding. A pilot shop with anything you want. They
rent multi-engine, single engine, single engine retractable,
helicopters, and have a full motion simulator for addition
instrument training. If you need any of those services

Visited ORL on a commercial x-country and accidentally
parked on their ramp instead of the Jet Center next
door. To make a long story short, my Katana DA-20 had
problems starting and blocked their tie down spot for
almost two hours before one of their mechanics spotted
a loose ignition wire. During my two hour delay I peeked
around and looked at their rental prices and fleet.
I was amazed at the surprisingly low prices for such
a young fleet of airplanes. Everyone was extremely nice
and helpful, offering help and advice during my many
failed attempts to restart. The chief pilot came out
and offered shelter from the hot sun and his mechanic's
help, which ended up being my ticket back home to HWO.
Thanks Air Orlando! I wish I remembered the mechanic's
name, he was extremely friendly and willing to help,
I think it was Nick. |

My wife and I rented a C172 SP from you last month
so that we could fly to the Bahamas - you may remember
talking with us both before and after the trip. I
just wanted to write you and tell you again what a
great FBO you have there in Orlando. I've never seen
such a marvelous fleet nor such a complete flight
store. I'm sorry that a facility like yours doesn't
exist here in my backyard (Northern Indiana, by the
way, in case you want to expand) -- even living in
Chicago I didn't find anything close to your shop.
I'll attach a picture of the beautiful water from
our trip. We fully intend to come back your way and
rent again in the upcoming months. Thanks, also, to
Keven Ward, who gave us great attention as well as
a very thorough flight and ground check. Keven is
a bright young man and is a good representative for
Air Orlando.
