Tailwheel Discovery Flight
If you are simply wondering what all the hype is about, then this flight is exactly what you are looking for. Experience a unique facet of aviation in discovering the differences between a "tailwheel" and a "tricycle gear" aircraft, all while having the time of your life! We can even tailor this flight to suit whatever your particular interests may be, or give you a sampling of all that this aircraft has to offer!
Tailwheel Transition
So you have decided to join the elite family of tailwheel pilots? At Air Orlando Flight School, our tailwheel instructors will mold you into a more complete and proficient pilot as you earn your tailwheel endorsement! This course is very exciting, extremely rewarding, and you will wonder why you have waited so long to experience the challenge of a conventional gear aircraft. A tailwheel endorsement may take between 5-12 hours of flight time to accomplish; this of course varies between individuals. Concepts covered in this course include wheel landings, three point landings, go-arounds, and handling crosswinds like a pro! We use the American Champion Super Decathlon exclusively. Don't wait! Come see us today and LET THE FUN BEGIN!!
Stall and Spin Training
"An airfoil can stall at any airspeed, attitude, or power setting". As pilots, we have all read these words in a book, heard these words from our instructors, and maybe even seen an animated demonstration on a video. Now it is time to experience this important fact...from the airfoil's perspective. If the mystery of stalls and spins sends your heart and mind racing then let us set you at ease. We will safely take you step by step through stall and spin entry and recovery procedures that will build the knowledge, skill, and confidence that pilots need. We start by exploring aircraft handling in deep stalls and stall entry, recognition, and recovery from all attitudes and airspeeds. You will learn how to enter, recognize, and recover from one and two turn spins, and even how to perform competition, or precision, spins! More importantly, we will ensure that you further enhance your ability to recognize situations that may lead to a spin, and how to recover quickly from incipient spins before they develop.
Unusual Attitude Training
Unusual attitudes. They key word is "unusual". Webster defines it as uncommon or rare. Whether induced by spatial disorientation, or wake turbulence, it is unusual to you because you have never seen it, did not command it, or what you see outside is not what you expected to see. Countless pilots have fallen into this trap only to make matters worse for themselves in the critical first moments. "Quickly" and "accurately" is the requirement when faced with this unwelcome surprise. We will help you to develop orientation in unusual attitudes, recoveries from extreme situations, and rolls to level attitude from inverted flight. This course is a great confidence builder!
Aerobatics I
Learn to fly an aircraft through the entire range of performance parameters and characteristics as we introduce you to the basics of maneuvering an aircraft in three dimensions. We will build your precision flying capabilities while instilling a new level of confidence to your airmanship. The maneuvers will focus primarily on positive aircraft control. They include the spin, aileron roll, loop, barrel roll, and slow roll. Ground instruction will cover all applicable regulations that pertain to aerobatic flight and special safety considerations such as wearing and the utilization of a parachute.

Aerobatics II This course builds on our Aerobatics I course as we continue to fine tune your aerobatic skills at the primary and sportsman level. Further explore the world of inverted flight and negative "g" maneuvers, including the horizontal 8, Immelman, and hammerhead stall. We will also introduce you to the successful planning and execution of airshow style aerobatic sequences!
